Community Living & Feng Shui

Feng Shui brings balance and harmony in your environment. We can’t balance other people – only ourselves. How do you maintain your balance when you are affected by those around you?
* Feng Shui wants an environment that works with us, rather than against us. When you have many different demands for a space, often some people’s needs are not met when other people’s needs are met.
* Feng Shui strives to put you in control of your space. It puts you in a commanding position that gives you the best view of your space and entrances where others can come in and potentially surprise you.
* Feng Shui considers all your senses – sight, smell, taste, touch, sound and the invisible energy of your 6th sense. Even in your private space you can often hear sounds from other apartments/condos – above you especially. You can smell other people’s cooking, you may be closed enough to see or feel their presence. This requires that you protect yourself from influences and intrusive affronts to your senses.
* In feng shui we recognize that what has happened in a place leaves energy behind long after the incident or previous tenants have left the building. Space clearing is essential to claiming your space. This means everything from cleaning and painting to burning sage, incense and/or candles in rituals to clear other’s energy and make your space your own.
Bagua mirrors help to send negative energy back where it came from so you are not affected by the negativity of the people around you. These octagons with the I Ching symbols of solid and broken lines surrounding a round mirror in the center get a lot of positive feed back on solving” the neighbor problem.”

Have a great, safe, inspiring, happy, healthy, fun summer!
